The Purl-Pal Swap

The Purl-Pal Project is a collection of patterns built from one simple piece: a 6"x6" (15 cm x 15 cm) knit square. This swap is how you trade one of your squares with another knitter — so what you make together becomes part of something bigger than either of you knit alone.

Knit a swatch. Get matched with a new knitting friend (aka your Purl Pal). Pop your swatch in the mail and keep an eye out for squishy mail from your new Purl Pal.

Before you send it off

Before you submit, here's what you're agreeing to (and a quick note: your square should be 6"x6" / 15 cm x 15 cm, since that's the size the Purl-Pal patterns are built around):
1. This is completely voluntary.
2. You're choosing to share your email and shipping address with another knitter, and that's your call to make.
3. Once you're matched, it's between you and your pal. If a package gets lost, delayed, or never shows up — that's a bummer, and I mean that. But I'm not able to track it down or make it right. Think of it like a pen pal exchange: you're trusting a stranger, and most of the time that trust pays off in a good way.
4. I keep your info for 90 days after your match, then it's automatically deleted.
5. Your address and email only go to your matched pal — I never share or sell your info to anyone else.
6. Your email is only ever used to send you your match — never for anything else.

Any aran-weight yarn works for your square, but the Purl-Pal Project patterns were designed in Paintbox Yarns Wool Mix Aran — check the collection page for details.

I understand I'm voluntarily sharing my shipping info and email address, and I accept that a match not working out is a risk I'm taking on.

Once you hit submit, I'll show you a page with your pal's info as soon as you're matched — I'll also send it straight to your email, so don't worry about losing this page.
